Name that rug !
From: chris edge

Can the Editor shed light on the preponderance of a certain pattern and colo(u)r or floor covering (ie a rug) that has been seen with multiple fliers on the field at Lost Hills. Those of us in far away places such as Scotlandland are keen to know if this is just a method to keep that darn grass off one’s shoes, or is a new thermal detection method, or maybe AA and/or Hummingbird are now in to soft fabrics ?

More importantly, where do I get one from as it will go nicely with the wallpaper in the chicken hut.

Editor’s comment
EoB it is none of those things. Or I should say that the lastest version is in fact the latest in chase vehicles. You sit on it and it takes off and you can fetch the errant model in double quick time. With a large model such as a F1A or F1C you are advised to remove the wings as they may upset the advanced aerodynamics of the Magic Carpet.

Clarifications on using the All-Tee V2 and with  About Time

From: Allard van Wallene

Hi,
Some info and clarifications on using the All-Tee V2 and About Time use:
-Data, time and GPS coordinates are assigned to a data set only when performing a flush using the V2 app. This means if you flush your All-Tee the day before your flight recording, the GPS coordinates of your hotel and the time of your preparations will be assigned. Therefore always perform a flush shortly before your actual flight.

-The FAI ID number which is assigned to your flight is taken from the All-Tee name (as also indicated on the label of the All-Tee). A future update of the app will also allow to change this ID number in case you want to borrow an All-Tee from another flyer.
-The All-Tee (both old and new version) have About Time upload functionality. In order for the flight to be registered under the correct round, you must perform a flush inside of the round time window.

-The All-Tee V2 is using the latest in landing detection. From the flights posted in About time so far, the moment of landing is spot on. Please note when making an automatic scoring, that recorded flights of the mini Neurone regularly show a 2 second overshoot where the flight is registered 2 seconds longer than the actual flight time (landing is detected some 2 seconds late). This should be manually corrected in the scoring system.

Enjoy!
Allard
