John Clapp
John Clapp passed away on the 14 of this month. For us modellers, John is most remembered as being the owner of FAI Model Supply that provided us with the rubber for our models and other modeling supplies. John stabilized the rubber supply by improving the working relations with “the Rubber Factory” and used his scientific and engineering background to work with them on getting a consistent quality. John treated all his customers equally, with no favorites getting “the special stuff”. He was a regular on the field flying himself so understood well what we needed. John retired a few years back and FAI Model supply continues along the standards that John set. We very much appreciate what John did to make our hobby more enjoyable and liked seeing him and Sally at our events world wide, he will be missed. Our condolences to Sally and the rest of his family.

Come join us for the MMM’s 44th Annual 14-Rounder, Sat-Sun, July 8-9, 2023 in Denver, CO. It’s a great time of the year to get away from the summer heat and enjoy flying on a 22,000-acre field with a fabulous view of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Warm days, cool nights, and friendly competition. We’ll have a large slate of FAI, AMA, NFFS, and SAM events. It’s a 2-day Free Flight festival! More details will be forthcoming soon.
