More BOM

From:  Klaus Salzer

Whatever one may read into the new European unmanned air vehicle regulations (vulgo Drone Rules), there is one interesting aspect:
All these devices with a weight over 250g must have several (not yet existing?) devices like height limiters, transponders, geo-awareness. Exception: Home-built devices …
I am absolutely sure that they have no idea about the discussions about BOM in our circles …
  Hurray for free Flight!

Editor’s comment , Klaus back in the late 60s when I was living in the UK you could avoid paying sales tax on a car by buying a kit, the big seller was a Lotus Elan, I “built” a Ginetta G15.  I did more work on the last Vivchar F1B I bought than I did on my “kit” Ginetta back then. The definition of BoM has been hazy for ever. The civil aviation authorities are beginners at this.
