A word from Mike and Ron

Just a friendly reminder that our fun filled Tangent Classic and Northwest FAI Challenge contests are less than a month away. You won’t want to miss the wonderful Willamette Valley with the great aviation museum in McMinnville, the world class Pinot”s, the flyers party at the Grell’s and of coarse the multiple contests featuring FAI, AMA, SAM and Vintage models sharing thermals together. Attached is our flyer and since Ron and I don’t need the money, we are willing to waive the entry fees for any of our European or Down Under flyers. Tough to beat that offer.

We hope to see you all soon; safe travels.

Magnificent Mountain Man for Junior F1B Team Trophy

From Don Deloach

I’m pleased to unveil the Magnificent Mountain Men Trophy for F1B Junior Team World Champion, in memory of Bill Etherington.

The Trophy was a collaborative effort between Chuck, Darold and to a small degree, myself. Chuck donated one of his dad’s trophies from ~60 years ago, and got it expertly replated. Then Darold stepped up and built the beautiful wood base. Lastly I have arranged for the engraving including researching the past winners, and now, at the last minute, building a travel box for it.

Chuck will hand carry the trophy to Romania Thursday and present it in person to the FAI at the Junior World Champs.

(Then, USA flyers Jace, Sevak and Troy will WIN trophy and bring it back to the USA where it belongs! No pressure guys!)

This Trophy is a great, permanent tribute to the excellence of our club. I’m proud to have played a small part.

Thrmx
Don
