USA FF Team Selection program ?

From : Paul Crowley

A question,
Maybe I missed it, but I haven’t seen a program for the 2025 Team selection yet. It would be helpful with the upcoming Fab Feb and other contests.
Just asking.
Thanks,
Paul Crowley

Dear friends
I will be in Lost Hills for the FAB FEB 2024. Can you send me an email
at aberlenc@flyingneurons.com if you would like MiniNeurones?
See you soon on the field.

About Time down under

About Time check of the latest Neuron and Mini-Neuron software at NZ Nats This is a test that is similar to what is going to be done at the Fab Feb   at Lost Hills. It is recording the flight time with an onboard Mini-Neuron flight recorder and saving on the internet at this place    https://abouttime.flyingneurons.io so go there
put the date as 1/2/2024 and search and you will see 3 of my F1B Flights at the NZ Nats
Look at the last flight – flight 16 see that it is 143 seconds. The timekeeper – Lindy got 143 seconds on the watch but she thought that maybe she wasn’t fast enough so only gave me 142 seconds. ( it did not matter because Dave Ackery beat me anyway.

If you push the Info button you see the information that the Mini-Neuron collected and posted. This is also  viewable at the contest site.
If you push the Curve button you will see the graphical flight record
If you push the Pos button you will the landing site one the new FF site at Matahiwi just outside Masterton, NZ. About 20kM from the Nats HQ at Carterton/Claireville.

FAI day was the second day we had flown FF on the new site. My max flights were 600-1000m . The sub max flight was 600mm. The weather forecast was for calm, but it was a little breezy. The day after for P-30 and F1G was very calm. Too calm for the F1H guys, but that’s another story. At the Nats the flights were timed in the usual fashion. For the official results.

We are still figuring out the best launch points for this new site. But the site is very promising so thanks Hamish and Rob for finding this “hidden valley” and the farmer and his team for letting us fly there.

There was one additional unplanned test item.  On one flight the tail boom of my F1B landed on an electric fence and another passing flyer heard and noticed this.  He moved the model so it was not touching the fence. He did not get a shock!  and the GPS tracking function worked as it should  as I used it find the model.  The Mini-Neuron still works perfectly.
