Give Credit

No, this is not a request to cottage industries that support Free Flight to become bankers but for us to give credit to  others that support it too.
We are fortunate to have people in our community who are excellent photographers and will take a whole series at a major event and publish them on social media.  Now or everything on the internet is free… .
It is extremely difficult to “report” on an event if you are flying it so we really appreciate their efforts.  They need encouragement to keep doing this. So firstly if you intend to a photo taken by someone else  for commercial purposes, e.g. promoting a product or for including it an article you are writing for  publications like the NFFS Sympo or Magazine like Aeromdeller you need to ask them for permission first.  Even if it is a photo of you and you refer to it on a social media post on the same social media source you should give credit. After all they made you look good.  From time to time we publish information in SEN from social media or other publications and always give credit to the source and author. Seeing we don’t do photos we don’t have quite the same issue.  A number of “our” photographers use a source like Flickr to distribute their images and we always refer to them when giving a Flickr line.  As a side comment some use Flickr because it lets them establish copyright and potentially put a water mark on the photo so they get credit.  So help our photographers and give credit.
