2010 Outdoor Free Flight AMA/NFFS-USOC National Championships

August 2 - 6, 2010

The 2010 USOC (Outdoor NATS) will be a great one. Charlie Jones will be the CD and promises a full complement of events, including three provisional events. These are ROW Rubber, Vintage FAI Power, 20-gram Mulvihill. Each of these can be entered on site. More information will be available on our web site and in the Digest.

Charlie will be looking for volunteers to help administer the contest, so give him a call and become one of the most important cogs in the machinery for the success of the week.

Scholarship Raffle

The NFFS is proud to have had a very good scholarship program for the past several years. We support this effort through the NATS cookout on Thursday evening of the NATS. We need a lot of donations to make it successful. Please send a lot of stuff (kits, engines, tools, etc.) to Phil Sullivan, 4536 Southern Ave, Anderson, IN 46013. Or send it to the AMA c/o Yolanda. Or bring something with you the first week in August.

ONE-DESIGN COMBO

Bill Vanderbeek, father off the One-Design Event at the NATS, has suggested something new. In 2010, all models from the first 12 years of the one-design creation will be combined into the One-Design Combo event. This Combo Event will be flown on Tuesday and replaces the Starduster-X event. The elgible models include: Starduster-X*, 1/2A Spacer, 1/2A Ramrod, 1/2A Bounty Hunter*, 1/2A Mini Pearl*, 1/2A Fubar, 1/2A Zero, 1/2A T-Bird, 1/2A Space Rod*, 1/2A Zeek, 1/2A Geef, and Honey B. These are all for nostalgia legal engines. Those marked with and asterisk may use a TD 049 or 051.

The 2010 One-Design model is the 1/2A Country Boy*.
